Today we move to Illetas, a coastal town belonging to the municipality of Calvià and very close to the center of the capital of Mallorca. This is where interior designers Melissa Rosenbauer & Thomas Bossert from espanyolet. have set the stage for their latest project.
With a focus on art & artisan godos, espanyolet chose to work with local artisans, providers and local materials to bring the island’s color, textures and soul to this special home.
Melissa and Thomas have used the lime technique to color the walls with a traditional application using pigments from Mallorca. The result has been to restore the original luminosity and provide organic textures that blend in with the natural environment.
In an open concept like this, lighting works to create distinct spaces, a soft delineation between kitchen and dining room, while setting the mood between two very different functional spaces.
As a centerpiece in the dining room, we find a beautiful natural wood table made by the Mallorcan artisan Pedro Casanovas, crowned by the exclusive lamps in terracotta tones by the artist Arina Antonova. These elements combine different looks, sensations, sizes and shapes to reproduce the different influences of the Scandinavian and Mediterranean style.
For the kitchen, they have chosen to collaborate with Cocinart, Espacio Home Design’s own brand, whose experience in the sector dates back to 1945, which endorses them as leaders in the sector both with their own brand and with others such as Modulnova or SieMatic. The design has been a joint process in which each one has contributed their know-how in order to capture the Mallorcan carácter and the Scandinavian design that characterize them so much.
The kitchen is the center of the universe for each of us -it’s family dinners, it’s a glass of wine with Friends, it’s sharing fresh produce, it’s rest… it’s everything comes together, so espanyolet. wanted to hand-craft this space with that sanctuary in mind.
This parador gathers all the looks and attentions in the space framed by knotty oak shelves and a countertop made of bush-hammered Newfoundland natural stone. The exclusive Hampton model kitchen in Nimbus gray is equipped with premium appliances from the German firm Miele (dishwasher, wine cellar, oven and refrigerator) and the innovative Bora brand (the hob and compact extractor), perfect for balancing the space of the kitchen extolling the beauty of global design. Finally, the choice of brass handles adds the final touch to this fusion of the aforementioned styles.
It has been a pleasure working with espanyolet., for that connection and the result of teamwork. The devotion to craftsmanship, the Mediterranean air and the heart in the Mallorcan roots make the result of this project magnificent.
